What is the issue with salt? Most people with hypertension have Essential Hypertension. The cause of this is largely misunderstood but is most likely due to a high carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrate causes salt retention which raises blood pressure. A low carb diet cause sodium loss which lowers blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure then a low carb diet may solve the problem.
